Job Description: Production Workflow Lead

Position Overview:

This role plays a key role in ensuring the production schedule is followed by verifying the completion and accuracy of work orders throughout the day. This position supports efficient workflow by moving materials through the facility and keeping operations aligned with planned production timelines. They verify inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and ensure production counts and data entry are validated for completeness and correctness. They serve as a communication bridge between departments to prevent delays and resolve issues quickly. With a strong focus on accuracy, coordination, and material flow, this role is essential to meeting daily production goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the daily and weekly production schedule to ensure tasks are completed in the correct order and timeframe.
  • Communicate material shortages, delays, or other issues to Scheduling/Customer Service and Production teams promptly.
  • Assist in identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies in material flow and help implement corrective actions.
  • Confirm that completed jobs are properly recorded and ready for the next stage (assembly, shipping, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Identify and correct inventory discrepancies, ensuring system data matches physical counts.
  • Receive, stage, and move materials and components through various production areas.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent quality issues.
  • Support the Quality Department by reporting any nonconforming materials or irregularities in production flow.
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled to prevent damage or mix-ups.
  • Other essential job functions as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or inventory control environment preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified 
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and basic prints or part numbers
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems
  • Basic computer skills (spreadsheets, data entry)
  • Knowledge of CNC machining and metal fabrication processes is a plus.
  • The ability to self-start, keeping projects and open items on track with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts.

  • Must be able to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds safely and without assistance
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and to move intermittently throughout the day.
