IMH Products is a contract manufacturer of metal components and a trusted partner of original equipment manufacturers and engineering firms. Committed to delivering quality parts that meet customer specifications and timelines, IMH carries out low-volume prototype work as well as large-scale manufacturing projects.
Our capabilities allow us to handle a wide variety of tasks, from complex short run parts to progressive stamping that allows us to turn out hundreds of parts per day. With our automated production processes we can keep costs low for our clients by running a large volume of parts over a short amount of time. Progressive stamping is another process that shortens turnaround times.
IMH Products proudly offers fast, high-quality metal fabrication services, including CNC forming, CNC punching, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and production welding. Our fleet of advanced fabrication equipment—paired with our team of talented professionals—allows us to handle even the most complex projects.
Why Choose Us for your Metal Fabrication Needs
The state of Indiana has a long history of being one of the key manufacturing states in the Midwest and in the country. For decades, some of the best manufacturing facilities have been housed in the Hoosier state.
Because of this, there are many facilities and workers who are the best in the industry at manufacturing items and components of all kinds. Metal manufacturing is a key part of the industry, and many of Indiana’s manufacturers, including Mainstay Manufacturing, focus on this important area of the industry.
IMH Products provides fast and precise laser cutting services for our partners. Our advanced equipment enables us to efficiently laser cut a wide range of materials, including aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.
IMH Products operates nine different lasers across its plants and seven of them are high-powered variable beam lasers. These automated lasers allow us to effeciently cut aluminum, steel, brass, copper, and more with precision and accuracy.
IMH Products provides fast, high-quality machining, including assembly services, CNC machining, CNC milling, CNC turning, and Swiss turning. Our fleet of innovative equipment—paired with our team of experienced professionals—allows us to fabricate complex metal components.
Our machining services include milling, turning, finishing, and assembly services. We have the capabilities to create a high volume of custom made parts from the design phase through complete finishing with assembly and even coloring with powder-coating, painting, and more.
IMH Products has two dozen press brakes with capabilities up to 1,000 tons of pressure. This allows us to form any angle, channel, trim, or structural sections on sheet metal parts.
Betwene our three plants we have the capabilities to deliver both small batches and large-scale production quantities quickly and efficiently. With the use of advanced CAD software our presses can be programmed for maximum accuracy and speed.
Not every manufacturer offers finishing capabilities on the parts they produce, but at IMH Products, that is one of the capabilities that sets us apart from our competitors.
We offer anodizing, e-coating, galvanizing, heat treating, powder coating, silk screening, and even military coatings that not only improve the look of our parts, but increases their durability. These various finishing coatings increases the lifespan of parts, thus reducing long term costs for our customers.
IMH Products provides contract metal stamping and precision metal fabrication services. IMH has 46 presses ranging from 40 tons to 800 tons and can design and build tooling for a wide variety of metals.
Our stamping capabilities include both manual and continuous feed pressses up to 120 inches long. We have multiple continuous coil feed presses that increase out efficiency, and with on-site tool and die operators we can build custom tooling right in our shop.
With multiple manual welding stations and automated welding lines for high-volume applications, IMH Products has the capabilities and capacity to handle all types of production welding requests.
IMH is currently in the process of increasing its robotic welding capabilities. Currently we feature three robotic welding cells and an automated drain welding system, but our capabilities are growing. We also feature manual MIG and TIG welding.
Coating and Finishing Capabilities
From concept to completion, IMH coordinates the entire fabrication process, facilitating machining operations and vendor relationships for our partners. This includes finishing services such as the following:
Electrocoating, electrophoretic deposition, paint deposition—e-coating goes by many names, but all of them refer to the same process of dipping metal components in immersion baths consisting of paint particles. Electrical charges are then applied to the fluid, drawing the paint to the metal part (or vice versa). This finishing method offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to produce durable and long-lasting parts.
Galvanization is an age-old finishing process that fights rusting and preserves a metal’s integrity over time. To galvanize iron or steel, a zinc coating is applied to the metal. The zinc then serves as a protective layer, preventing harmful substances from damaging the metal beneath it.
Heat treating can refer to a variety of finishing techniques, including annealing, case hardening, normalizing, and tempering, among others. These processes manipulate a metal part’s properties to alter its characteristics, priming it for optimal machinability. Heat treating can be used to change the ductility, hardness, and strength of stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, and other alloys.
Coatings for military applications call for complete precision and unparalleled quality. IMH can coordinate the application of various anodizing and plating techniques, delivering heat- and corrosion-resistant parts that perform in the most challenging conditions and comply with military standards and specifications.
The powder coating process consists of three parts: pretreatment, powder application, and curing. Metals are cleaned before the electrostatic application of powder, after which the powder undergoes a period of high-temperature curing. When properly executed, powder coating creates a beautiful and long-lasting finish that stands up to corrosion, chemicals, and natural wear and tear.
The popularity of silk screening isn’t limited to the clothing industry. Silk screening is also a versatile finishing technique that allows manufacturers to apply custom designs to metal components
Metal Fabrication in Indiana and More
IMH is a go-to contract manufacturer for subassemblies with stamped, machined, and fabricated components. With three strategic locations and a combined 285,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, we have the capacity and technology required to fill requests from the agriculture, defense, food service, healthcare, lighting, material handling, and transportation industries.
Indiana’s manufacturing industry has an output of well over $100 billion, according to the National Association of Manufacturers. It’s nearly 28 percent of the total gross state product. There are over 7,000 manufacturing firms in Indiana and about 542,000 workers in the manufacturing industry in the state.
The output of Indiana’s manufacturing efforts has dramatically risen since 2009 from under $70 billion to well over $100 billion today. Machinery and fabricated metal products are key manufacturing sectors in the state. Mainstay Manufacturing is just one of the many firms successfully operating in the state.
These same areas are also growing both in terms of output and employment, further proving the importance of these sectors and manufacturing in general to the state of Indiana. Mainstay is proud to provide CNC machining and metal fabrications services it does to various partners and customers across the state of Indiana.
